The Unique & Unusual Gift Show offers a Thanksgiving weekend alternative to the busy and chaotic mall experience. Housed under one roof and for just one day, shoppers will discover gifts like cards, clothing, jewelry, accessories and books; or Native American flutes and music; or items from such places as Egypt, Russia, and India. Many items will be handmade, including custom-made jewelry from local artisans. There will even be gifts for pets.

Santa Claus and his helpers will be available for photos. This is no mall Santa—this is the Real Deal! So be sure to bring the kids. The Unique & Unusual Gift Show grew from an inspiration and desire to stimulate business for many independent business owners and entrepreneurs who desire to make a difference. Sandy Rogers, a producer of special events and workshops, woke one morning with the idea for this "Mall Without Walls.” In a comfortable, indoor space, businesses could set up without long leases or huge financial investments, and shoppers could share an unforgettable experience.

She decided that Thanksgiving weekend would be the ideal time to launch this venture, since the day after Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, usually begins a month of insane searching through every mall and big box store for those “just right” gifts.

The Unique & Unusual Gift Show inaugural event will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the beautiful DoubleTree Paradise Valley Resort and Spa in the Main Ballroom. Admission is FREE!

For a truly Unique & Unusual shopping experience, guests can park at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church located at 7655 N Miller Road (just south of Indian School at Main Street) in Scottsdale and take a complimentary ten minute ride in a Double Decker Real London Bus to the show.
